a sari [saree] is a generally-South Asian garment, most popular in Pak-Indian cultures. the wedding sari is traditionally red silk with gold embroidery. it is always draped over a matching straight long skirt, called a lehenga, and a cropped blouse, called a choli, [these names vary by countries]. the modern bridal sari outfit, like the mermaid-style one above made of georgette, no longer has to be silk, red-gold or straight-frame. i hesitate posting a fusion dress, only because the sari has inspired so many Western trends that it’s only fair to display a more traditional, elegant piece. also, the intricate details are amazing!](http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4yxi1Ivj01rvtugco1_500.gif)
